Brightlight Pictures Inc. is a Canadian film production and television production company based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

History

Brightlight's Chairman, Shawn Williamson, has produced more than 90 productions in the last 15 years and over 35 productions since launching Brightlight in 2001, including White Noise starring Michael Keaton, which has grossed over $100 million since its worldwide theatrical release in 2005. Recently, Williamson has worked as a producer on the feature film Horns starring Daniel Radcliffe, for Mandalay Pictures and Red Granite Pictures; 50/50 starring Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt; and The Company You Keep, a Sony Pictures Classics release for spring 2013 directed by Robert Redford and starring Redford and Shia LaBeouf.
Brightlight also developed, packaged and produced Mr. Hockey, The Gordie Howe Story in partnership with Inferno Pictures and Balwin Entertainment for the CBC and Hallmark Channel. Other feature producing credits include The Possession starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Kyra Sedgwick for Mandate Pictures and Lions Gate Films; starring Nathan Fillion and Katee Sackhoff with Gold Circle Films; In the Name of the King starring Jason Statham; 88 Minutes starring Al Pacino; The Wicker Man starring Nicolas Cage for Nu Image/Millennium Films and Emmett/Furla Films; Slither with Gold Circle Films and Universal and Apollo 18 for The Weinstein Company. Brightlight also produced Possession starring Sarah Michelle Gellar for the Yari Film Group; Passengers starring Anne Hathaway for Mandate Pictures and the feature film Far Cry, based on the video game of the same name.
Brightlight's television credits include the TV series Saved for TNT and Fox 21; and About a Girl for MTV's TeenNick Network and Global Television. Brightlight also produced the CTV/Space Channel series Stormworld, an Australian/Singaporean/Canadian Treaty co-production shot in Perth, Broome, Singapore and Vancouver.
Brightlight's UK/Canada feature co-production Fifty Dead Men Walking starring Ben Kingsley, Jim Sturgess and Kevin Zegers had its world premiere as a Gala Presentation at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2008 and was released theatrically in the summer of 2009. Brightlight also produced Frankie & Alice starring Halle Berry and Stellan Skarsgard and the feature film Gunless, a comedy western co-produced with Niv Fichman's Rhombus Media and distributed by Alliance Films starring Paul Gross, Sienna Guillory and Graham Greene.
