Foreign and Commonwealth Office
. He served in the
UK Mission to the UN
, and then in Singapore,
Athens
, and NATO before being appointed as
UK Ambassador to Yugoslavia
, and later served as
Ambassador to Zimbabwe
. After leaving the
diplomatic service
, he worked as a
Special Advisor
to the
Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs
. In retirement he served on the
Commonwealth Scholarship Commission
and the
Special Immigration Appeals Commission
.
He is an
honorary fellow
of the
Queen's College Oxford
.
