Black-eared wood quail


The black-eared wood quail is a bird species in the family Odontophoridae. It is found in Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama.

Description

It is mainly barred brown with a black face, short beak and feet.

Feeding

The black-eared wood quail eats insects and nuts especially in summer, as well as plants. Unlike many other bird species, they require a high protein diet.
