Bill Swan (writer)
Bill Swan is a Canadian children's author living in Orillia, Ontario. He writes full time, including work as a communication consultant.
His book on the Steven Truscott conviction for murder was winner of the Ontario Library Association Red Maple Award for non-fiction, and was one of five children's non-fiction books in Canada nominated for the Norma Fleck Award for Children's non-fiction in 2013.
He is contributing editor to COLLEGE ADMINISTRATOR magazine, published by the Ontario College Administrative Staff Association. From 1971 until taking early retirement in 1996 he was a college administrator and journalism professor at Durham College in Oshawa, Ontario. He was editor of the Woodstock Sentinel-Review in the late sixties, and from 1985 to 1995 wrote a sometimes humorous column for the now-defunct Whitby Free Press..
