History
Azumi-Oiwake Station opened on 16 November 1915 as Alps-Oiwake Station. It was renamed to its present name in 1919. With the privatization of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987, the station came under the control of JR East. A new station building was completed in 2015.Passenger statistics
