Athletics at the 1982 Commonwealth Games – Men's marathon


The men's marathon event at the 1982 Commonwealth Games was held on 8 October at the QE II Stadium in Brisbane, Australia.
The two Tanzanians, Juma Ikangaa and reigning champion Gidamis Shahanga, opened up a large lead, but Rob de Castella closed the gap in the final kilometres to win.
