Amarpreet Singh


Amarpreet Singh is a former pilot and humanitarian who is known for being associated with Khalsa Aid, a global non-governmental organization led by the Sikh community. Singh previously served as the Managing Director, India for Khalsa Aid.
Since 2017, he has been appointed as the Managing Director, Asia-Pacific for Khalsa Aid. Referring to his humanitarian efforts, founder of Khalsa Aid, Ravi Singh has called him the unsung hero of Punjab.

Personal life and education

Amarpreet Singh is from Patiala, Punjab, India. He is a former pilot and has done his pilot training from Patiala Aviation Club. Singh is a graduate of Punjabi University, Patiala where he majored in Counseling Psychology and Social Work. He is a practicing Sikh.

Career and Humanitarian Efforts

Singh joined Khalsa Aid in 2012 and founded its Indian chapter the same year. In 2014, he became the Managing Director for Khalsa Aid, India. He has done humanitarian projects as a part of Khalsa Aid in countries like India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal and others.
Since 2017, Singh is the Asia-Pacific Director for Khalsa Aid. As Managing Director for the Asia Pacific region, the NGO has been involved in a lot of humanitarian causes in the region. Under his leadership, he managed the Rohingya Refugees Relief Project under Khalsa Aid to help the Rohingya community who were displaced from Myanmar in Bangladesh. Singh and his team were among the first foreigners to help the Rohingyas.
Singh also led Khalsa Aid in its humanitarian efforts during the 2020 Delhi riots by helping the injured people rush to hospitals and rebuilt the buildings damaged during the riots.
Under his leadership, Khalsa Aid is involved in helping the Sikh community in Afghanistan and efforts were boosted after the Kabul gurdwara attack.
