Amadeus August was a German actor and singer who spoke French and English.Career
Amadeus August became famous throughout Europe as protagonist of the successful European TV series Quentin Durward which was broadcast for the first time in 1971 and had later on some re-runs. Although it turned out that this role had already marked the peak of his career, he would still frequently be a guest star in TV shows, as for example Derrick. He also had a supporting role as Count of Haugwitz-Reventlow in in 1987.
He died of Aids. His sepulchre is in the cemetery of Unterhaching.Selected filmography
