Ali Shah Chak
Ali Shah Chak was a ruler of Kashmir and father of Yousuf Shah Chak. He ruled from 1570 AD to 1578 AD. The origins of the Chaks are unclear, some claim they were originally were Dards, residents of the Gilgit- Hunza area. They successfully resisted the attempts of Babur and Humayun to annex Kashmir. He dethroned Hassan Shah Chak in 1570 AD and became the new king of Kashmir. He died in 1578 AD and was buried in Srinagar, Kashmir.
