Alexander Nanta Linggi


Alexander Nanta Linggi is a Malaysian politician from the United Traditional Bumiputera Party currently serving as Member of Parliament of Malaysia for Kapit constituency. He was a former Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development until May 2018.
Alexander is the grandson of Sarawak leader Jugah anak Barieng and the son of former politician Leonard Linggi. He is also a businessman, having served as the Chairman of shipping company Swee Joo Bhd.
Alexander received the Panglima Jasa Negara award in 2010, entitling him to use the honorific title 'Datuk'.
On 16 May 2013, after his victory in the 2013 election, he was appointed as Deputy Minister for Rural and Regional Development under the new Cabinet of Prime Minister Najib Razak.
