Albatros Airlines
Albatros Airlines is a Venezuelan commercial airline with private capital, authorized to carry out flight operations for the transfer of passengers, cargo, founded May 13, 2010. Aircraft fleet: Embraer Brasilia 120, Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 -500.
History
Albatros Airlines was founded on December 27, 2007 and received the Air Services Operator Certificate issued by the National Institute of Civil Aeronautics on May 13, 2010, to carry out commercial air transport operations, passengers, cargo and mail in the national and international level.On May 13, 2010, the airline made its first commercial flight in Cessna Caravan 208B, a 12 seat airplane, on the Porlamar - Carúpano route. During the rest of that year, new routes were opened in the eastern region of Venezuela, with departures from Porlamar to the destinations Maturín, Cumaná, Barcelona and Güiría and to Los Roques with departures from Maiquetía and Maracay.
The airline has made charter flights to various international destinations, Aruba, Curaçao, Barranquilla, Port of Spain, Haiti, among others.
During mid-2010 and 2011, the airline dedicated itself exclusively to the corporate market, serving different passenger and / or cargo transfer companies on different national routes.
On July 27, 2012, the Cessna Caravan 208B aircraft were replaced by the 30-seat Embraer 120 aircraft for commercial flights from Porlamar, 2, to Carúpano and Maturín, and including flights to Tucupita and Maracay and the Carúpano route to Caracas.
In the expansion project of the company, the acquisition of 1 Boeing 737-500 was made to increase its fleet and air services. With it, it operates flights to San José de Costa Rica with two weekly frequencies, being the only direct flight between Maiquetía and San José.
On December 5, 2018, Albatros Airlines begins commercial flights from Caracas to Barranquilla, on a Thursday and Sunday frequency, non-stop direct to Ernesto Cortissoz International Airport.
On November 12, 2019, the airline received its first Airbus A320-200 from Montreal under a wet lease scheme, landing in Porlamar, becoming the second Venezuelan commercial airline with this type of aircraft, after Aeropostal Alas de Venezuela operated under this same scheme between 1999 and 2001.
The company announced in its expansion plan for the year 2021 the incorporation of Boeing 777-200ER long range aircraft which will be dry Leased, for the operation of flights to Europe on routes to places such as Oporto and Rome.
