Aimaro Satō


Yoshimaro Satō was the Japanese Ambassador to the United States from 1916 to 1918.

Biography

He was born in 1857 in Hirosaki, Japan. He migrated to the United States and attended DePauw University and graduated in 1881.
In 1896 he published Agitated Japan: The life of Ii Kamon-no-kami Naosuke, under the name "Henry Satoh".
He was the Japanese Ambassador to the United States from 1916 to 1918. He replaced Chinda Sutemi when he was appointed.
He died of arteriosclerosis on January 12, 1934 in Tokyo.
