2008 Punjab provincial election
Provincial elections were held in The Punjab on 18 February 2008 alongside with Nationwide General elections, after being postponed from 8 January 2008. The original date was intended to elect Provincial Assembly.In the 2008 elections, the PML and the PPP formed a coalition government, with PML as the senior party and Shehbaz Sharif as Chief Minister of Punjab.
