June 23–27 – Typhoon Goring causes massive damage to the provinces in Northern and Central Luzon , that left 51 people dead, 5 missing, injuring 109 others and left billion in damages. June 28–29 – Two University of the Philippines in Los Baños, Laguna students Eileen Sarmenta and Allan Gomez were abducted and killed by the men of Calauan, Laguna Mayor Antonio Sanchez . July 2 – 266 people were killed after a pagoda sank in Bocaue , Bulacan due to overloading of the boat. July 7 – Rosilin Federico, a 22-year old nursing student was raped and killed by brothers Ramon, Adorable and Zaldy dela Paz, Joel Borion and Allan Florentino in Marikina City . August 13 – Murders of Eileen Sarmenta and Allan Gomez: Calauan, Laguna Mayor Antonio Sanchez was arrested, but maintained he was innocent. He then accused Kit Alqueza, son of Gen. Dictador Alqueza, who was charged of masterminding Gomez's killing. September 7–11 – Funeral of Ferdinand Marcos: Remains of former Pres.
