1926 Calgary municipal election
The 1926 Calgary municipal election was held on December 15, 1926 to elect a Mayor seven Aldermen to sit on Calgary City Council. Additionally three members for the Public School Board and two members for the Separate School Board.
There were twelve Aldermen on city council, but five of the positions were already filled: Frank Roy Freeze, Robert Cadogan Thomas, Robert H. Parkyn, Thomas Alexander Hornibrook and Sam S. Savage were all elected to two-year terms in 1925 and were still in office.
The 1926 election had the second woman elected to Calgary City Council in Edith Patterson, the first being Annie Gale in 1917.
A number of plebiscites were held, all requiring a two-thirds majority to pass.
The election was held under the Single Transferable Voting/Proportional Representation with the term for candidates being two years.Results

Industries Assessment
