In June 1866, during the Austro-Prussian War, there were clashes between Prussia and Austria near Štveřín. Since 1919, the settlement has been called Čtveřín.
At the beginning of 1961, the village of Sychrov was raised to the rank of community and Čtveřín was amalgamated into it. At the same time, it was assigned to Liberec District. Since 1990 Čtveřín has been its own community again. The most notable building is the old school, which is now the village council building.
